The Federal Fair Housing Act prohibits housing discrimination on the basis of National Origin, Religion, Sex, Familial Status or Disability. The Michigan Elliot-Larsen Civil Rights Act provides additional protection against housing discrimination based on chronological age or marital status and the Michigan Persons With Disabilities Civil Rights Act expands protection against housing discrimination for persons with disabilities.
